Osage Orange Longbow Wood
A very well known and respected bow wood. This North American hardwood with is bright Yellow in colour when freshly worked mellowing and darkening to the familiar orange/russett brown over a few months.
Osage Orange is particularly tough wood and although a little wild in the grain and difficult to work it is very resistant to crushing forces making it ideal for the belly of a laminated longbow, well suited to higher poundage bows, producing a generally superior slim and fast bow.
