Maple Longbow Wood
Maple, specifically American Hardrock Maple, is flexible and excellent under tension this wood has the natural properties required for the back of a laminated longbow.
Pale cream in colour and featuring a straight grain, it’s availability makes it my preferred wood for standard longbows of average poundage.
Maple is also my preferred back wood where the bow features a Yew belly.
